Review chemical inventory of department

   

Know MSDS/reference location and availability

   

Know the importance of labels on hazardous material containers

   

Become familiar with properties of chemical hazards

   

Know special handling procedures for reproductive toxins, dangerously and highly toxic materials, chemotherapeutic drugs

   

Review personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, eye protection, lab coat) and engineering controls that should be taken to minimize exposure

   

My supervisor has discussed/trained me on the above items and has answered all of my questions. I understand the intent of Washington State Labor and Industries Employer Chemical Hazard Communication Program and the Hutchinson Center Hazard Communication program found in Chapter II of the Hazard Awareness Management Manual.
