Home Team Guidelines
- Home teams compete against other home teams (separate track from work teams)
- Home teams must consist of at least two individuals, with at least one member being a FH or SCCA employee. The team captain must be a FH or SCCA employee.
- All team members must live at the same residence
- All team members must be old enough to participate in all the Healthy Habit activities, although the following categories can be adjusted as appropriate for children:
- food serving sizes
- calcium intake
- substitute limits on sugary drinks (such as soda pop or sweetened fruit juice drinks) for limits on alcoholic beverages
- To earn points for on-campus special events, employee(s) can attend and discuss the presentation information with their team members.
- Points of home team members would be averaged for each Healthy Habit category, and then the averaged category points summed for a team's weekly total.
FAQs
Q. Is there a minimum age requirement for participants?
There is no age limit, but all team members must be able to reasonably participate in all of the Healthy Habit activities.
Q. Won't larger teams have an advantage?
Because home teams will be averaging their points to generate a total and will compete only with other home teams, the varying sizes of these teams will not impact scores.
Q. How can home teams participate in special events such as lectures?
While all team members are welcome to participate in the offered special events, in most cases this will not be practical. Therefore, home teams may have their employee member attend the events and share/discuss the event information with teammates.
Q. Can I be a member of both an employee team and a home team?
Yes. Since score tracking will be handled separately for these two groups, employees are eligible to be members of both types of teams.
